A fine copy, the cloth fresh and unfaded; in the original dust jacket, near fine, with the spine slightly faded. A notably well-preserved example. Published nearly a decade after Hemingway’s death, Islands in the Stream represents one of his most substantial posthumous works, edited by his widow, Mary Hemingway. The novel draws on material developed over many years and reflects deeply autobiographical themes. Set largely in the Gulf Stream and the Caribbean, the narrative follows the painter Thomas Hudson through three interrelated episodes - exploring artistic life, personal loss, and wartime pursuit. The work resonates strongly with Hemingway’s own experiences in Cuba and his wartime patrols against German submarines.
