Publisher's yellow cloth with black illustration to upper and red titles to spine. With the striking montage dust-jacket. Orange endpapers, top edge ochre. Contents clean, no inscriptions. Price clipped jacket lightly worn at spine ends and extremities. Thrilling Cities is a travelogue account of various exotic locations, many of which feature in the author's James Bond thrillers, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Macao, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Vienna, Geneva and Monte Carlo. These were serialised in the UK in The Sunday Times (1959-60). The American hardcover follows the UK printing Nov. 1963, but includes the first appearance of the short story '007 in New York', which was omitted from the British edition. Aside from the added fiction, the other text is similar to the UK version, but with some positional changes to paragraphs and a few phrases and words 'Americanised' for the US market.
