Brown cloth spine over tan cloth boards, spine lettered in gilt, bookplate, slight bubbling to the brown cloth, glue shadow to rear endpaper of Vol. I where a letter from the publisher was attached. The typed letter is present on the publisher's letterhead, dated November 28, 1902, quoting the book delivered for $5.34. The bookplate and the letter is addressed to Otto C. Davidson of Iron Mountain, Michigan. Davidson was a prominent Upper Peninsula mining executive, the letter being stamped received at Chapin Mine Office. Reprints the original 1814 edition with an Introduction and index by Hosmer. A handsome set.
