Selection of short pieces intended for use in improving elocution. Contains, among other pieces, Twain s short piece Membranous Group on pp. 86-94 (here spelled in the complete title Membranous Croup and The McWilliamses but as Membranous Group in the index) as well as Miss Blanche Says by Bret Harte. Orinianlly published in 1875, Membranous Croup was the first of three comic tales about the tribulations of middle-class couple. Very good or somewhat better, light even soiling to the wraps and a small chip foot of spine.
