Toluca: Imprenta del Instituto Literario, 1880. First edition, 8vo, pp. 84; portrait frontispiece; later half blue calf, red morocco label on gilt-paneled spine; near fine. Mirafuentes was Governor of the State of Mexico 1877 to 1880, famous for skinning his war victims alive. He died in 1880 and after his death various accounts of apparitions and ghosts of the soldier who haunted the Santa Clara neighborhood emerged, where he was initially buried. Item #63522
