First edition; 4to (28.5 x 23 cm); contemporary ownership inscription in pen to front free endpaper, ex libris bookplate to front pastedown, pictorial title vignette, as well as 7 further woodcuts throughout, 24 pictorial engraved initials and a folded table, some vignettes offset, pages slightly browned with minimal spotting; half green morocco over marbled boards, bound by Sangorski Sutcliffe, spine lettered in gilt with raised bands, slight discolouration to spine and some to upper and lower boards, blemish to leather of lower corner of upper board, joints cracked but holding, top edge gilt, very good; xvi, 408pp.
