This is a hardcover first edition of “The Great Gilly Hopkins” by Katherine Paterson. It was published by Thomas Y. Crowell Company in 1978. The unclipped dust jacket has some shelf wear, with rubbing on the edges and corners. There are a few small tears (all smaller than 2 cm) along the top and bottom edges of the jacket. The jacket also has some toning, a few small stains, and some light creasing. (Please see the photos for condition.) The boards have some light rubbing on the edges and corners. There is some toning and/or sun bleaching along the top and bottom edges. There are two small indentations on the front cover. The binding is firm and square. The interior pages are clean with no stray marks or writing. This is a nice copy of the first edition of the award-winning children’s classic!
