This is a rare copy of the first edition of 'The Animals of Farthing Wood' by Colin Dann. First edition, first impression. The first of eight books in the Farthing Wood series, this title was awarded the Arts Council National Book Award for Children's literature in 1980. The text was previously published in two separate volumes in 1979. An animated television series based on the books and comprising 39 episodes was broadcast between 1993 and 1995. Description: Octavo. Black and white drawings within the text by Jaqueline Tettmar. Original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. This is a very clean copy of a scarce children's book. There is some very mild foxing on the top edge. Whilst structurally sound, there is a bend in the book, and two imprint lines on the hardcover and dustjacket, where presumably something weighted once sat on it to cause the bend. There has also been some mild rubbing on the top sides of the cover. See photos detailing condition.
