Description Joseph Heller — Catch-22 The Folio Society, London, 2013 Third printing of the 2004 Folio Society edition With an introduction by Malcolm Bradbury and nine full-page color illustrations by Neil Packer, including the frontispiece. This edition pairs Heller's novel with one of Neil Packer's most distinctive binding designs. The khaki boards are blocked in white, yellow, red and dark blue with a repeating pattern of falling bombs, interrupted by figures and objects drawn from the novel — a lighter, a gin bottle, fruit, a syringe, a pack of cigarettes. The rear board carries a lone bomber releasing its payload down the cover, and the endpapers repeat a pattern of military aircraft. Packer's plates are among the strongest work he produced for Folio, holding the surreal violence of the book without tipping into caricature.
