This is one of 88 copies, signed by Sturgeon and Tschirky on the front free endpaper and with the handwritten statement of limitation (there a dozen publisher's copies). This copy with an added note from the author on a proof of the half title, "For Groff Conklin with thanks and warm regards Theodore Sturgeon" Groff Conklin (1904-1968), who later edited a collection of Sturgeon short fiction, A Way Home (1955), was an influential editor and anthologist in the postwar years when science fiction moved from pulp magazines to books: "his 41 anthologies now seem to be the best and most sustained presentation imaginable of the virtues of the Golden Age of SF" (SFE).
