Octavo (21.5cm); turquoise cloth, with titling and author's facsimile signature stamped in gilt, black, and red on spine and front cover; dustjacket; [xiv],186,[8]pp. Signed by Vonnegut in black pen on the half-title page and dated November 7, 1996, the day after an event held at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Faint wrinkle to cloth at crown, the barest hint of sunning to upper board edges, else a fresh, very Near Fine copy. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $5.95), showing some very mild and fairly even toning to spine and panels, with two closed tears along the upper edge, and three tiny foxed spots on verso; Near Fine. Vonnegut's best-known novel, both a re-telling of his experience during the bombing of Dresden during WWII as well as a story of time travel. Basis for the 1972 adaptation by George Roy Hill, starring Michael Sacks as protagonist Billy Pilgrim. According to an add in the San Antonio newspaper The Rattler, the November 6, 1996 event was held at Trinity's Laurie Auditorium, sponsored by the university's English department; the title of his talk was titled "How to Get a Job Like Mine" (Vol.83, No.6, p.4).
