[Italy : s.n., c.1915]. Gelatin print photograph printed on postcard stock, 137 x 87 mm; verso inscribed in ink: Gastone Lurini ; in good condition, the verso with paper borders from an old mount. Gastone Lurini (1898-1916) was the son of Italian writer and intellectual Edmea Lurini Bernini, and older brother of Marisa Mori (1900-1985), a noted painter and scenographer involved in the Italian Futurist movement. Gastone is pictured here in military uniform towards the beginning of World War One; he died in combat on 27 April 1916.
