The Australian Historical Monographs were written or edited by Australian historian and prolific writer, George Mackaness. He wrote or edited 41 monographs between 1935 and 1962. All had limited printed runs, and were individually numbered and signed by Mackaness. See the entry "Australian Historical Monographs" in Wikipedia for a full list. This is Monograph number XXXV published in 1956. It was issued in two parts (ie two seperate booklets). Full title: The Discovery and Exploration of Moreton Bay and the Brisbane River (1799-1823) Editor: George Mackaness. Part I - No 110 of a limited print run of 150 copies and signed by Mackaness (see photo) Part II - No 106 of a limited print run of 150 copies and signed by Mackaness (see photo) This is the scarce limited first edition (not the later Dubbo reprint), in quite good condition.
