Yet the work is more than purely expository: as Peter Thielke notes, "the methods Kant adopts in this work are different from those he employs in the first Critique, and this opens up a novel perspective on what exactly critical idealism involves" (p. 2).Of the first edition's three issues, this second is identified by the angel vignette headpiece on page 3 and the garlanded rod tailpiece on page 222.
