A Book of Cuts. First edition, inscribed "to Simon Heneage, from Edward Bawden, 1979", with Heneage's bookplate loosely inserted. Heneage (1930-2011) was a publisher who co-founded the Cartoon Art Trust and the Cartoon Museum in Little Russell Street. This book is entirely made up of linocuts by Bawden, reproduced at the size they were cut. Loosely inserted is a clipping from the Obsever, dated 18 March 1979 advertising the book, and calling Bawden "one of the outstanding British graphic artists of the past half-century."
