The spine cloth is split and frayed at the foot with fraying at the head as well, and the spine ends show loss. The binding is holding and the book opens and closes, but this is a well-worn copy structurally. Interior is considerably better than the exterior: pages are clean and bright with the illustrations sharp and unfaded, no highlighting or margin notes, with light foxing and scattered small stains to the endpapers and preliminary pages, and toning to the page edges.
