Fishing in Egypt. First edition, first printing, of this animated guide for amateur anglers, written pseudonymously by the British soldier Richard Bain (1883-1919). Bain was an enigmatic figure who wrote articles for the Egyptian Gazette and also produced a curious guide to Egyptian snakes and snake charmers.Provenance: George T. Hardy (1899), a businessman based in Port Said for the merchants Kenneth, Foster & Co., with his 1946 ownership signature on the title page.
