General Election 1955". The author was returned as Unionist MP for Argyll in the 1955 election and held the seat until his death in 1958. He is likely inscribing here to members of his constituency association.McCallum (1888-1958) served with the East Yorkshire Regiment in China in the 1920s and commanded the British Legation Guard in Beijing. In 1927, he was given leave to travel. China to Chelsea recounts his epic 15,200-mile journey by car from the legation compound to the front door of his house in London.
