A pilot in the 11th Bombardment Group (The "Grey Geese"), 7th Air Force, Price flew 40 combat missions in the Pacific Theater. He famously piloted the B-24 Liberator "Complete Miss," bringing his crew home safely despite the aircraft being hit by enemy fire on 15 consecutive missions. For his heroism, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters.
