Colonel John) British Military album, 23 vintage silver gelatin photographic prints, each c.75 x 1000 mm., each pasted to thick card leaves, most captioned by hand, light spotting to leaves, cracked hinges, original cloth, rubbed and worn, oblong 8vo, [c.1897]. *** Pencil note to the front free endpaper reads, "Photos taken by the late Lt. Colonel J. Haughton commanding 36th Sikhs..." This presumably refers John Haughton (1852-1898) who died shortly after these photographs were taken at Shinkamar Pass in the Tirah Campaign.
