Part 17 is devoted entirely to Matteo Ricci, the pioneering Jesuit missionary in the Far East. Of the remaining parts the first nine are on France, part 10 Portugal, 11 Constantinople and the Levant, 12 & 13 Canada; 14 Louisiana, 18 the massacres in Lebanon, 19 Portugal, 20 Russia and 21 Greece.
