Levant.- Guer (Jean Antoine) Moeurs et Usages des Turcs, 2 vol., first edition, first issue, engraved frontispieces, titles in red and black, 28 engraved plates (7 double-page or folding), engraved initials, head- and tail-pieces, previous owner's ink signature to titles, occasional light browning and spotting, vol. 2 with tiny worming at gutter toward end (not affecting text or images), contemporary calf, a little rubbed, slight bumping to corners and extremities, [Atabey 534], 4to, Paris, chez Coustelier, 1746-47. *** The scarce first edition with both volumes published by Coustelier. It is more common to find the second edition published by Merigot and Piget as Coustelier appears to have ceded the privilege to Merigot and Piget who brought out both volumes under their imprint in 1747.
