First edition, classified "restricted", of this rare manual for General Electric's Central-Station Fire-Control System, which was deployed for the first time in the Boeing B-29 Superfortress during the Second World War.The revolutionary technology allowed the gunner to sit in the pressurized crew cabin and substantially improved accuracy by making determinations concerning range, bullet trop, deflection, wind correction, and the correct lead. The booklet is divided into seven sections concerning the reasons for the creation of the system, its control charts, the responsibilities and pre-flight duties of the gunner, procedures during missions, and ground maintenance.Copies are held by East Carolina University, Hennepin Country Library (Minnesota), and the Museum of Flight's Harl V. Brackin Memorial Library.
