MacArthur 1941-1951. First edition, fourth printing, signed by both authors on the title page, and inscribed by Willoughby, "Leavenworth 1933, Naples 1969. For Ralph and Helen Combs with affectionate regards on an unexpected and memorable meeting!". Willoughby's calling card is loosely inserted. Willoughby graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and moved to Naples, Florida in 1968. He served as MacArthur's Chief of Intelligence from 1941 to 1951. His book, written with the aid of the journalist John Chamberlain, was prepared from MacArthur's personal papers and battle reports, as well as direct interviews.
