Alongside widespread devastation, she reports on wartime atrocities suffered by civilians.Ethel Brilliana Tweedie (1862-1940) was one of the first female professional travel writers in Britain and was highly successful in her field. Her work was typically lighthearted and intended for pure entertainment, so A Woman on Four Battle Fronts was a departure in style and content.
