It was to be distributed during the visit of the UAE Chamber of Commerce's delegation to Egypt in March 1988, at a time when President Mubarak was seeking closer economic ties with the Gulf countries. In the same year, the Agreement on Trade, Economic and Technological Cooperation was signed between Egypt and Abu Dhabi. After summarizing the various state assemblies and their members, and providing census data, the booklet analyses economic trends and investment during the 1980s. Sections are devoted to economic relations with Egypt, and the tasks and responsibilities of the Chambers of Commerce of each emirate. The last section comprises a directory of board members, and another for the members of the delegation which visited Egypt in 1988, with their professional fields of interest and activities.
