'Aqlamat al-harb fī 'Umān wa-masīr al-firaq al-qabalīa fi Zhofār Second edition, with the first unrecorded in WorldCat, of this political pamphlet. We have only traced three institutional copies. It was originally issued by the Marxist and Arab nationalist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Oman, active in the years 1974-76 in the fight against the Sultanate of Oman. It was especially involved in the Dhofar rebellion (1965-79), which also opposed the British presence in Oman. This second edition, published after the rebellion was defeated, sought to re-ignite intermittent, localized conflicts, which only eventually ceased in 1979.After summarizing the conflict, the pamphlet examines British policies and their role in the regional war, the dynamics of tribal conflicts and their manifestations, the role of the "puppet regime" and its relations with the tribal groups, and the way in which anti-government tribes would only become even more hostile with the interference of British forces.
