Guildford in the Olden Time. First edition, from the library of Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, bound for presentation and with an illuminated inscription to his wife Lucy Baldwin (née Ridsdale) to commemorate her visit on 8 November 1927. The calligraphic inscription reads: "To Mrs Stanley Baldwin, we the mayor, aldermen, and burgesses of the borough of Guildford extend to you our warmest welcome on your visit to the county town of Surrey. We ask your acceptance of this volume of the ancient story of our borough written by one of our own townsmen as a reminder of our appreciation of the presence amongst us of the wife of the first minister of the crown".
