Tsze Teen Piao Muh: a Guide to the Dictionary. Second and revised edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Mr D. Thomas Curtin, with the author's compliments. T.J. 6.xii.16." At the 1877 Caxton Quadricentennial, which was staged in the International Exhibition Galleries in London's South Kensington area, Jenner also exhibited Chinese and Japanese rare books, as well as Asian and Western types and blocks. The recipient, Daniel Thomas Curtin (1878-1961), was an American reporter who covered the conflict in Europe during the First World War. This edition is the first realistically obtainable, as that from 1904 is unrecorded in recent commerce. Tipped onto the rear endpaper is an eight-page supplement to the author's discussion; when exactly this was printed is unclear.
