Dark Matter by Blake Crouch — Advance Reader's Edition (Uncorrected Proof) A pre-publication advance reader's edition of Dark Matter, Blake Crouch's standalone science fiction thriller, published by Crown Publishers, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group. This softcover proof was produced for reviewers and booksellers ahead of the trade hardcover's 2016 publication, and carries ADVANCE READER'S EDITION on the front cover and UNCORRECTED PROOF / NOT FOR SALE on the rear. This is an early-state proof, and the copyright page shows it in three places. The Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data reads "[CIP data]", and the jacket credits were typeset but never filled in — the lines read "Jacket design by TK" and "Jacket photography by TK", TK being the publishing shorthand for copy still to come. Held against a finished copy, this page carries placeholders where the published book names its designer. The rear cover also preserves a detail the finished book does not: it gives the publication date as August 2016.
