The Worth of a Penny: Or, a Caution to Keep Money. Early edition, following the first of 1641, of this lesser-known work by the author of the Compleat Gentleman (1622).Henry Peacham (1578-1644) is also known for his collaborations with Hollar - the English and Latin verse on Hollar's 1644 view of the Royal Exchange is credited to him. Much like the Compleat Gentleman, The Worth of a Penny has a social and cultural focus, beginning "there must, by the Divine Providence; in a Nation or Kingdome, be as well Poor as Rich... but the cause of every mans poverty is not one and the same" (p. 1).
