From the collection of Rolling Stones drummer and jazz aficionado Charlie Watts, with his posthumous bookplate, and with a gift inscription from Mick Jagger in black ballpoint pen on the first page: "Happy Birthday from Mick, 2018 Coventry!". As part of their No Filter tour, the Stones played the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on Charlie's 77th birthday.First edition of this attractive programme, a significant document, signed by many of the headliners and particularly uncommon when complete with all laid in pages and the wraparound band, as here. Louis Armstrong, members of the "Hot Five", and pianist Earl "Fatha" Hines sign on the front cover, along with bassist Arvell Shaw and singer Velma Middleton.Other notable signers inside are clarinettist Barney Bigard, drummer Big Sid Catlett, Mezz Mezzrow (tenor saxophonist, clarinettist, and notable tea-dealer) and his band; Sammy Price, piano, who replaced the advertised Willie "The Lion" Smith, drummer Baby Dodds, bassist George "Pops" Foster, trumpeter Henry Goodwin, trombonist Jimmy Archey, clarinettist Bob Wilbur, proto-bopper Derek Neville, who led the British contingent, along with his tenorist Jimmy Skidmore; sax player Vernon Story and pianist Don Gais from Rex Stewart's band; Parisian clarinettist Claude Luter.
