Agreement for the Extradition of Offenders between the Government of the United Kingdom (Acting on Behalf of His Highness the Sheikh of Koweit) Scarce first edition, reproducing the Saudi-Kuwaiti extradition accord signed concurrent to their April 1942 agreement of friendship. The negotiations in Jeddah marked a significant upturn in relations, ameliorating tensions that had grown in the two decades since the Uqair Protocol and instituting new structures for cross-border co-operation.At the talks, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait signed three important documents, the other concerning trade. All were brokered by Francis Stonehewer-Bird, Britain's representative in Saudi Arabia, and Sheikh Yusuf Yasin, Ibn Saud's private secretary. The extradition agreement authorized the practice for offences including robbery, theft, murder, raiding, and smuggling, but political offences were explicitly excluded.Of the 1,000 copies printed, we have traced six surviving in institutions (British Library, Harvard, University of California, UBC, Global Affairs Canada, and La contemporaine in Nanterre).
