Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Joseph Schindleman published in the US in1964 by Alfred Knopf pre dating the UK edition making this the true first edition. All first edition points present including the all important 6 line colophon with paper manufactured by S D Warren Co (no subsequent prints included this), no isbn to dust jacket and $3.95 price. The dust jacket which isn’t price clipped is in great condition with vibrant illustrations with just a small amount chipping/tear to the spine ends. The book itself looks as new with bright white clean pages no folds, thumb marks or anything. Ink stain to top of text block unfaded and the cloth boards immaculate, previous owners name written neatly and in small writing to top corner of front paste down. Included is a signed card reading to Tina love Roald Dahl. Complete with certificate of authenticity having been certified by Garry King one of the UKs leading experts in autograph authentication.
