The Diaries of John Quincy Adams 1779-1848 (Library of America boxed set)

by John Quincy Adams

$43 · Offered by eBay · No longer available

The diaries of John Quincy Adams, in two volumes, with box. Noted campaigner against Freemasonry, anti-slavery agitator, ambassador to Great Britain, Prussia, and Russia, in addition to various elected offices. These diaries cover his entire adult life, and, according to the cover blurbs, are "an unparalleled resource for the study of our nation's politics, history, and enduring values." The material of the covers holds and displays fingerprints really well, unfortunately. The box cover material is also a little bubbled, as pictured. (Visible near top edge in last picture, similar on opposite face.) Otherwise in very good condition. The books themselves are very nice, bindings excellent, minor shelf wear on dust jackets. Pages are unmarked.
