Tales of the Jazz Age. First edition, second or third printing (with the "an" reading), handsomely bound. Credited for coining "the Jazz age", the work contains 11 short stories, among them "A Diamond as Big as the Ritz" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".The publisher ordered three printings in 1922 without distinguishing them on the title or copyright pages. A single textual revision was made across the initial three printings, intentionally changing "and you give me pen" to the even more vernacular broken English of "an you give me pen" (232.6). The later "an" reading is also seen in the second revised edition of 1960 and in successive reprints.
