Cultural Revolution-era mirror with Mao quotation. An example of the Mao cult's everyday manifestations, the quotation reading, "It is necessary to master Marxist theory and apply it. The purpose of mastering it is to apply it." This mirror was produced by the Beijing Seven-One Mirror Factory, its name (a Cultural Revolution adoption) referencing the Chinese Communist Party's founding on 1 July 1921.
