NATIONAL UNION OF WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE SOCIETIES.
Inquire · Offered by Peter Harrington
Are Women Citizens? Double-sided leaflet, scarce, boldly denouncing the legal double standards that ordered women to pay taxes and obey the law, despite having no political representation. It also extends an invitation to join the NUWSS to "all women who believe [that] this state of things is neither just to themselves, nor advantageous to the community". We have traced one copy institutionally, at the National Library of Scotland, and another in the Ann Lewis Women's Suffrage collection. Provenance: from the collection of the suffrage historian Elizabeth Crawford.
