It was published in French as Les Dimanches de la comtesse de Narbonne (1935), following her similarly themed limited edition Sunday, or a Working Girl's Lament (1930). A notorious figure, Fellowes (1890-1962) was a key high fashion icon of the period and served as Paris editor of Harper's Bazaar.
