Fairfield discusses women's work and wages, their relation to Christianity, public morality, and female missionary work.Zoë Fairfield (1878-1936) was the assistant general secretary of the Student Christian Movement for 20 years from 1909. The Woman's Movement considered the contemporary "intersection of gender and religion, particularly the debate about women holding lay positions in the church. Her intervention was part of a discussion led by sympathetic men and women, including her cousin Letitia Fairfield, about the role of the religious ministry of women within women's emancipation" (ODNB).Provenance: from the collection of the suffrage historian Elizabeth Crawford.
