Programme for the theatrical adaptation of Vile Bodies staged at the Vaudeville Theatre, April-May 1932. An ephemeral survival from the first licensed theatrical run of Vile Bodies, as adapted by H. Dennis Bradley. Bradley's version was first staged as a private performance in 1931 but failed to win the approval of the Lord Chamberlain. Permission to perform at the Vaudeville Theatre was secured after rewrites. Presented by Lionel Barton, the driving force behind the 1931 production, the play was staged every night for six weeks.This is one of two known versions of the programme, which differ slightly in their layout and in terms of the performers involved.
