Vintage Bundle Lot of 17 Knowledge Encyclopedia 1960s Purnell

£75 · Offered by eBay

The British magazine Knowledge was launched by Purnell and Sons on 9 January 1961, as "Knowledge: the new colour magazine which grows into an encyclopædia" at a price of two shillings per issue. Sixteen volumes of twelve issues of Knowledge each were initially planned, but two additional volumes brought the total to eighteen, for a total of 216 issues at 16 pages per issue, 3456 pages. It was also printed and published as a set of 18 hardcover books, Knowledge: the new colour encyclopaedia (Volumes I–XVIII), and this is an opportunity to buy almost the full set of these volumes in lovely condition, missing only vol XII (pages 2113-2304). Collection preferred as this lot weighs in at 22kg.
