This is the 2005 limited facsimile edition, published by the Istvan Farkas Foundation, Budapest, Hungary, and printed by Logos, Como, Italy. Limited to only 100 facsimile copies, this being No. 5. A large-format artist's book pairing the poetry of French writer and art critic André Salmon with vividly colored images by Hungarian-French modernist artist Étienne Farkas / István Farkas. The work contains a sequence titled Voyage, comprising ten sections: I. La Cage II. Sous-Marin Blanc III. Sous-Marin Mauve IV. Sous-Marin Rouge V. Saveurs VI. Madagascar VII. Chanson VIII. Mondes IX. Forêt X. Vitrail followed by Message. Each poetic text is presented opposite a large color image, reproducing the striking pochoir illustrations from the 1929 edition. The original 1929 colophon reproduced within the facsimile states that the first edition was limited to 200 numbered copies, including 15 on Japon paper and 185 on Arches paper. The reproduced original copy is numbered 90 and bears the reproduced signatures of André Salmon and Étienne Farkas. Please note: the handwritten signatures and original “Exemplaire No. 90” limitation statement visible within the book are facsimile reproductions from the 1929 original and are not original signatures in this 2005 edition.
