Typed letter signed, to John Gulland, clarifying a schedule conflict. A somewhat irate letter from Churchill, written on Admiralty letterhead while serving as First Lord, concerning arrangements for a meeting in his Dundee constituency.Gulland (1864-1920) served as Liberal MP for Dumfries Burghs from 1906 to 1918 and was Honorary Treasurer of the Scottish Liberal Association. He had written to Churchill after it appeared there was a clash between the Scottish Liberal Association's annual meeting in Dundee and Churchill's own annual meeting as MP for the constituency.Churchill writes that his constituency agent in Dundee, Mr Husband, had erred, and that "there is no question of any inconvenience arising through meetings clashing". He nonetheless resents Gulland's tone and the implication that the Scottish Liberal Association should take precedence over himself: "In spite, however, of the severity of your last sentence, I am still inclined to think that if the Scottish Liberal Association had been meeting in Dundee, the arrangements for the annual meeting of the sitting Liberal Member for the constituency, if previously made, should not have been over-ridden".
