Signed photographic portrait, by Vivienne. One of the great photographic portraits of Churchill, signed and dated 1957 by him on the mount and by the photographer on the image.The photographer, Florence Vivienne Entwistle (1889-1982), was one of the leading society photographers of her time, and her son married Churchill's daughter. The portrait was taken around December 1949 and shows Churchill seated half-length in black formal jacket and bowtie. It was one of his favourites - he used it in the February 1950 general election and ordered numerous copies to sign and present.Provenance: the collection of Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Magazine, and presidential candidate in the 1996 and 2000 US elections.
