His final mission in September 1918, flown against overwhelming odds, cemented his posthumous reputation for exceptional bravery and resulted in the award of the Medal of Honor. This copy is extra-illustrated with a high school photograph of Luke and another showing a commemorative statue erected in his honour in Arizona.
