Jade Snow Wong", and signed by the illustrator below.Jade Snow Wong (1922-2006) was raised in San Francisco's Chinatown in an immigrant family originally from Guangdong, China, as one of nine children. This work is her autobiographical account of her upbringing and is "a portrait of the Chinese American immigrant family experience, written with humanity and insight" (New York Times). Wong embarked on a four-month speaking tour around Asia, and her work was translated into several languages. Mildred Martin was an author who wrote several educational works for children focused on the fictional Miller family.
