In 1960, she worked for Adlai Stevenson, and she recalled talking to Kennedy at the convention in Los Angeles: "I remember being in John Kennedy's room with him... We were exchanging ideas and telling him why we were supporting Stevenson. It was good politics on his part" (cited in obituary in Pasadena Star-News, 3 July 2012).The Strategy of Peace collects the speeches of Kennedy, the front-running Democratic candidate for the presidency. The speeches cover numerous domestic and international questions and are expanded by Kennedy himself for this publication. The historian Allan Nevins provides an introduction, and the book concludes with an interview with Kennedy by John Fischer.A printing of Kennedy's inauguration address and a first day cover commemorating Kennedy (addressed to Osos, with a printed presentation note from Democratic State Chairman Eugene L. Wyman) are loosely inserted.
