Biplans & Monoplans. First edition of this catalogue from the early pioneers of aviation, including a striking double-page spread of a Farman biplane flying low over the Parisian skyline. Henri Farman (1874-1958) and his brother Maurice (1877-1964)designed and constructed aircraft from 1908 to 1936, notably helping to pioneer the use of ailerons in aircraft design. By 1911, they had achieved several aviation firsts, including the first circular flight of 1KM, and a world record endurance flight of 146 miles.At the rear, a price list records the 17 models then offered by the brothers, with the "Type militaire courant", fitted with a 50hp Gnome engine, costing 28,000 francs.
