[In Cyrillic:] Manifest kommunisticeskoj partii. First complete Russian translation of the Communist Manifesto, declared by Engels to be "by far and away the best of all the foreign language translations he knew" (Andréas). Translated by Georgi Plekhanov, with a new preface written in January 1882 by Marx and Engels as well as their preface to the edition of 1872, it was this translation that played an important role in the development of the Russian socialist movement. The original Russian translation of 1869, probably by Nechayev, contained a number of serious mistakes and omitted several sections of the German original.
